What "Torn" seems to be about is a song about confusion on what is right or
wrong, truth or lie. Being lied to so often, not knowing the real truth.
People can be so believable, pretending to help, when really their using you.
"Stole all that you gave, control: you claim you save me."

"To Whom It May Concern"
- Many rumors surround this song, but many believe it was written by Scott for the fans, telling them not to "steal his freedom" by keeping there eyes "staring at him in the dark".
Very controversial, but it makes sense nonetheless.

- the elderly are just as good as the younger people. And the Fountain of Youth is really nothing much, because you are what you are-Not if you drink some water from the fountain of youth.

Scott is telling in a way about his experiences with the church he went to as a young boy. And the fraze "sexuality is democracy" Scott was pointing somewhere toward the fact, that the US isn't a perfect country that most people think it is.

"My Own Prison"
Scott wrote this when he was building up reasons to blame other people for his mistakes. -ALSO- The line, "Should Have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head", was written when Scott had 4 cups of shroom juice, and passed out. He woke up on a Sunday morning literally banging his head, because he thought he was going to die.
Scott wrote this about revenge. "What If", Stapp's most telling tidbit, because it brings to the surface the rage issues he seems to be confronting; About some magazine reporters who tell rumors and give bad reviews. True, he allows. All too true.

A bitter diss of an Ex- girlfriend. Scott & his Ex had gone out a year & a half, they were in a bar, Scott had no idea anything was wrong. She hooks up with a guy, and starts making out with him right in front of Scott & his friends, she grabs this guys hand, and walks out the bar with him. (Think about that next time you listen to "Beautiful")

"With Arms Wide Open"
Scott wrote this song right after he figured out he was going to become a father.
"Higher": Scott wrote this for lucid dreaming. "Your physically asleep, but you are awake in your mind," Scott explains. Scott had been having a recurring nightmare that wouldn't go away: He's running down a highway, closely pursued by a man with a gun. He turns left and hides behind pillar beneath an overpass but gets shot anyway. After Scott wrote

"Wash Away Those Years"
Scott wrote this about a close friend of his that was a girl, she was raped/or hurt, and the song was a way of letting out his anger at the problem. Scott said that recently the group had received a letter from a rape survivors organization, thanking them for all the song and all their support. He said, "This is for all of you"(Thanx for that quote by Creed Fan Marissa!)

"Whats this Life For"
This song was written about one of Scott & Marks friends that committed suicide. "Don't have to settle the score" that was said to be what was written at the bottom of the suicide note.
Thanks for reminding me, you two to put this one down-

This song was about not only pointing a finger, but about what Creed see themselves as.(Meaning my Creed Fan Jake) Something Scott said at a concert, was close to this great quote-"If there is a god, or some heavenly being up there, I think that this is how he see's all of us..."-(Meaning heard at concert by Marissa)
Thanx for the meaning!(Meaning explained at concert(s) by Stapp)

Which is about your conscience and and reconciling who you are with what you want to be.(Concert info from Creed Fan Marissa) At a concert, Scott said that this song really explained who they were and that "Faceless Man" was the song that most reveals who Creed is.
